I've heard those same warnings about not giving money to beggars. At an intersection near where I live there is often at least one person holding a sign saying they are out of work and need money, and I make a point of having dollar bills in the car to give them. I figured out that when I ignored them I felt bad, and when I give them money we both smile and I feel good.<br /><br />Some people buy an expensive cup of coffee as an indulgence.
